Hi all.

Does anyone know the size of the nylon thread that was supplied with the Hood partwork? I’ve been using it for some other models and I’ve now run out of it. Is it 0.1mm? Any help would be great. I’m sure it said the size in the magazine but I can’t for the life of me find where I’ve put them!

Cheers, Hilux

Hi. Having checked it comes in issue 136. It doesn't say the size but having measured it with caliper it's 1.7mm nylon - basically its fishing line. It would be cheaper too, to get some fishing line that size.

1.7mm? It looks a lot thinner than that. Looks less than 1mm. I was guessing about .15mm. Ii was thinking fishing line would be the best option. Might go my local shop tomorrow. I’ll take what I have left in with me.
Cheers magpie.

For flat rigging wire like on a 1st WW model I also use Prym knitting elastic it comes clear but will take a colour of your choice:-
