I have completed the lowest gun port wall and looking ahead the 2.0 mm thick wood strips of hull planking are to be laid below the wall. On examine the strips I have been sent I measure them as 1mm thick. When laid beneath the lower wall the are 1.0 mm lower than the wall. On looking at the photos it appears that the wall and underlying hull planks are on an even level with the ca. 2 mm thick wall. Have I been sent the thinner strips by mistake?

Hi m0325 The 2x5x300mm strips are supplied in bundles of around 20 strips and you are correct they should be 2mm thick and not 1mm. With pack three you should be supplied with two bundles of 2x5x300mm strips so check your other bundle to see if it is the correct size also. It looks like you may have been supplied with the wrong bundle of 1mm strip. Please contact C/S and reorder a replacement for the bundles or bundle you have. I am on stage 10 of the USS Constitution and am asked to make a 7 mm strip of netting for the aft length of the bulwark. The maximum length of the netting I was sent (5 pieces) measure on the diagonal only 250 mm but the length needed is 350 mm. I would call for replacements but do not what to tell the operators of the part number that I was sent which is too short. Am I missing something? Michael (m0325)

Hi M0325 The netting supplyed is to short to do a one piece along the aft bulwarks what I did was to cut 3 long strips and cut one in half. Glue the half strips to the long strips to get the length needed. If you measure correctly the joint can be positioned against one of the metal uprights to give more support when the netting is glued in position. Super glue works well on the netting. Hope this helps Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
