Hi All

Does anybody know where i can buy a Yellow Ochre stain the usual suspects
don't do it B&Q etc

You can always try an artists supply shop.
They usualy carry a number of colours.

Are you sure its yellow ochre stain your seeking?

Yellow ochre paint is what being referred to in the magazine which is available via CMB under the Admralty Paint brand or via the complete Victory paint set via the Model Space shop or CMB.

If its stain you want, then you need to seek a light coloured stain to match the finish colour your looking for as per yellow ochre paint, rather than looking for yellow ochre stain which likely does not exist.

If its stain for the cabin partitions then this is a dark walnut stain.

Thanks for the advice but paint is not an option the lower hull is
polished Walnut and the upper half is maple i will try woodturners sites

If I remember Zeptrader did a brilliant mock-up of the external hull planking and used a number of different stains and managed to make it look like it had been painted - really impressive!
Have a look in his build diary, although I'm not sure where he posted it,
