XX227 - The Last jet from the founding fleet of Hawk T1s first used by the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team - retired today. It joined the Red Arrows on February 6, 1980 and has flown 8,077 hours (including overseas visits to countries such as China) and has made 13,855 landings. Red 1, Squadron Leader Martin Pert, was at the controls of XX227 this morning for its final aerobatic flight, before he and other members of the team signed a farewell message on the side of aircraft.

Scampton would be a good choice, but for me Valley the home of the Hawk would be fitting  although i'm biased as I spent several years there maintaining them  Al

I don't live far away from there. At work we have a few cars come in from pilots (one being the bosses nephew now an f-35 pilot) etc. One of my older customers used to repair the hawks and seakings there. He told me a story about a hawk having a flap problem and the let it circle around to burn off fuel then jumped and dumped it along the mile. Took days to get it out because of the tides. The Ministry of Defence have confirmed no new Hawk jets are needed by the Red Arrows for another 13 years and looks like it’s now the end of Hawk manufacture in the UK - so much for flying the flag for Britain 
A spokesman for the MoD said:
“The Red Arrows will continue to fly the Hawk T1 for more than a decade and there is no need to replace them until after their end-of-service date.”
In a letter to Prime Minister Theresa May, 142 MPs called for orders for replacements of the Hawk plane to be brought forward to save jobs at BAE Systems and keep production in the UK.
In their letter, the group warned that unless new contracts are signed soon there will be:
“Virtually no possibility to build any future Hawk aircraft in the UK.”
BAE Systems announced last month that it is planning to cut almost 2,000 jobs in its military, maritime and intelligence services to give it “sharper” competitive edge.
Currently, around 40% of a new Hawk is manufactured at the company’s site at Brough, East Yorkshire, and the rest at Warton and Samlesbury in Lancashire.
“By ordering a new fleet of planes to be used by the iconic RAF Aerobatic Display Team, the government will not only help to mitigate the job losses, but will also guarantee the continued production of the Hawk in the UK.
The age of the aircraft affects their reliability to perform, as has been seen recently at air shows where the Red Arrows have flown with a reduced number of aircraft in their formation”, the letter said.
