the best part of the video is the half eaten watermelon on the shelf behind him at the end!!! I think he needs to tin his soldering tip better. He seems to have some adhesion issues with his solder.

Nice find Andy. Cool

Definately shows the need for clean parts, flux and a soldering iron thats up for the job with correct temperature. All adds to the finished join being smooth and not looking like a bad welding job.

An excellent video Andy, thanks for sharing.

The subsequent videos on home produced PE parts are interesting too. Cool ThumpUp

Great video Andy. Had a good look through his others and linked videos. Very informative about PE. Don't think there's much I need to learn about using PE now.

BigGrin Thanks for your input everyone, my main reason for highlighting this video is if your looking for how to do it its out there if you look around by searching.

The basic information is sound and explains all you need to know for soft lead soldering.

If you look closely he solders on the outside of the part or the side that will be inside the finished model and never seen after completion thus all you see on the part that will be viewed on the finished item is a thin line of solder.

Of course if your soldering parts where the joints will be visible like on a crane gantry more care will be needed to prevent excessive clean up but the solder will be softer than the brass or steel etch part and with care the excess removed.

Be aware that soft soldering using a station as shown in the link is good for smaller items but larger items may need silver solder or even gas brazing to get a good joint.

By all means please update the above link if you find a better one or can improve the information given.
