Hi folks

Back on 11th May I took out my subscription for HMS Victory. The same day I recieved a nice informative e-mail informing me that having taken out a subscription I would never miss an issue and that issue 1 & 2 would be with me within 14 days.

28 days later and I'm still waiting for issue 1 and 2 to arrive.

I'm now seriously considering cancelling my subscription and going out and buying the Caldercraft version of the Victory instead.

I would like to know before I take any further action just how reliable are delivers of each installment please?

thanks

Gary

Hi Gary,
usually the first delivery can take between 14/28 days, then its every month. And very reliable.

I have been subscribeing for 15 months and that is my pattern.

Hope that helps

Deliverys dont start me on it..

Or is it just customer service, my first 2 mags arrived 21days after order and only after i complained to CS. my next 2 mags have not arrived todate, when containg CS i was give the old fob off, and have been informed that the next 2 will be delivered in the first 2 weeks of July after being dispatched on the 1st, so that makes it the middle of july or 2 months after the first 2!!!!!!

CS says they cant or wont do anythig about this. also order paint set that was pant set which is rappidly approching being late ie more than 14days.

I am just hopeing that once the inital c**k up has been corrected everything will settle down, otherwise its a trip to Trading Standards and Advitsing Standards to start with.

In my opion no delivey should take more than 3days, 14days is just alowing for sloppy admin.

To be fair, DeAgostini has to handle thousands of customers, not all related to the HMS Victory build, as there are many part works produced by this company, and in all honesty, they have done a good job, yes granted some deliveries are later than others, but you also have to look at Royal mail who delivers them, It is not just DeAg who operates like this, as I subscribe to three other part works, and their deliveries are the same, but I get by, knowing that they will get here, and that's good enough for me, but I also remember when there was a mess up of the deliveries, DeAg sent out duplicates to all those effected free of charge.

I think DeAg stated when I took out my subscription that it may take up to 28 days for delivery.

Anyway, I wish you all happy building and all the best!

Have your read the forum head notice as follows:

If you have a complaint about service or product please contact customer services. They are paid by De Agostini to sort out any problems you have. When you call or email them please keep a record of who you spoke to and when.

Here's how to contact them...

http://forum.model-space...t.aspx?g=posts&t=94

If you are not helped, or your problem not resolved by them then you can of course send a message to the forum admin, however for your own security I would do this as a private message as you will need to supply account details. We will then try to find out with customer services why they are not able to help you.

However, don't pm us without first going to customer services otherwise we will simply pass you on to customer services.

Contacted Customer Service today by phone and I have been told my first two issues will be dispatched this Thursday.

I have tried previously to contact them by e-mail but that was painfully slow.

My main concern was that they told me I would receive my first two issues within 14 days. See body of e-mail they sent me in bold text.

Thanks for subscribing! Your first two issues and your first free gift exclusive to you as a subscriber will be with you within 14 days. We've put some information together for you about your subscription which we think you'll find useful. If you have any questions, please do get in touch with us.

Your Subscription starts at issue 1

As a subscriber to Build Lord Nelson's HMS Victory, you'll never have to worry about missing an issue. Your first two issues will be with you soon. We'll send your next two issues in a month, and then after that four new issues every month. Each issue costs £5.99 and postage and packaging is free, so there's nothing more to pay. To help protect your magazines, we'll send you specially designed magazine binders when you need them - each binder holds 20 magazines and costs just £7.99.

If they had said between 14 and 28 days in their e-mail to me it would not have been of concern. But having been informed in the e-mail that it would be within 14 days after 26 days it became a concern.

I think one of the problems for DeAGOSTINI is that most of us who deal on Ebay, Amazon, Cornwall models etc is that we get and expect instant feedback and mostly very fast service.

I have had to contact customer services on several occassions, to find out if my cheque for back issues had arrived, when I would receive the back issues, etc etc. Each time customer services have been as helpful and curtious as possible but they do not seem to have the answers I expect from an international firm.

I hope the administrator reads this, takes note and tries to get a better feedback information systems using emails or even PM's on this forum.

Please do not take this as a moan, just a constructive critism with a possible solution.

DeAagostini obviously have a problem, I first tried to subscribe on 13 April but the system failed, Contacted customer services who were unaware that the series had been restarted. Emailed a complaint and was told I could only subscribe from 10 issues prior to the present issue (which were in their 50’s).

A further email resulted in the following response.... The Build the Victory collection has been re-launched, which is why it is only letting you start with issues 1/2/3. If you want to start with a later issue, you wouold need to contact us by telephone on 0845 1489 213.Huh

Obviously C.S. don’t read the emails properly and when I telephoned them after this they were still unaware of the re launch and I was told to make a further complaint in writing even though they had spoken with the author of the above email.

I eventually got a conformation email of my subscription on 5th May, stating delivery within 14 days. Nothing arrived so spoke with CS who admitted they were waiting for issue 1 to be printed and offered to start my subscription at number 2, which I declined as if issue 1 does not materialise the whole set is useless.

I sent an email on the 24th May asking why there had been no contact and asking for an explanation and an assurance that there will be no delivery issues in the future. I also suggested that the biggest problem was he lack of communication.

Unfortunately CS do not feel that they need to respond to my complaint as I am still waiting for a response.

Now my account (which shows as unsafe due to an invalid certificate) has stated for the last week, that issue 2 and 3 were sent to me on 9th June. Strange that as the items cannot be sent in advance and where is my issue number 1, I have already told CS I do not want to start from issue 2.

I have serious concerns and will be returning any issues sent if I do not get a response to my complaints in the next few days.

Hi

Thanks, I have now and suggested that customer services are asked to comment about the issues on this forum.

Unfortunately this is a disccussion forum, it has no links to customer sevices and is not the place to be discussing customer service issues. If you have a problem relating to this then it needs to be taken up directly via the contact info provided, which is noted at the top of the homepage of the forum.

Received an e-mail today from de agostini telling my that they have dispatched issues 2&3 to me but issue one is out of stock so I guess I have answered my own question.

Considering this model was advertised on TV in early May which is what prompted my subsciption I find it incredible that they did not have isssue 1 in stock.
