Good morning from 'The Dockyard'.

At the end of last weeks post I thought I had completed the weathering with just the matt varnish to apply. Blushing

Until I ran out of varnish last weekend! Blink

I ordered two more cans and awaited their arrival. In the interim I noticed that the varnish already applied had really darkened down the algae, to the point where it was difficult to make it out in places. Not what I was after to be honest.

Furthermore the salt streaks and some of the rust spots had been rubbed away, unbeknownst to me at the time, whilst handling the boat when applying the algae paint.

So, this weeks post looks at reapplying the salt streaks and rust spots, varnishing these areas as soon as they were complete. I also repainted in the waterline with algae paint, leaving unvarnished this time, so that it has more presence.

The attached photos shows the starboard bow.
