Ahoy shipmates,

Thanks for the positive comments, much appreciated.

Further work done on Issue 74:
- Entry port parts decorated with gold paint
- They fitted onto both sides of the hull
- Started to fit the side ladder, steps completed on one side. I also added a little radius on the outer corners, to make them look more gentle, also a little inset picture shows in the magazine that they are also rounded on the real ship.

With your attention to detail i'm sure you're going to do a fantastic job on your painting Laszlo, relax take your time and make sure the edges on your masking are stuck down really well, i'm looking forward to seeing your results.

Thanks All.

Today I applied the second coat.
Very pleased with the result, there is no different shades (compared my copper painting), managed to make a uniform colour all around.

I will start masking tomorrow for the black stripes.
This time with more confidence since the success with the yellow paint. Cool BigGrin

Issue 75 continued.
Crying Huh

With some fear I started to work on the black stripes.
I started with the "hidden" side, which will be towards the wall when the finished ship will be displayed.
I applied the masking tape.
I had difficulties to get the tape straight where the line crosses the wriggles and the steps.
Even if I tried it with 1.5 mm wide Tamiya masking tape, I couldn't get it nicely straigth.

At the end I used the 6mm tape and just let it run over the wriggles, without tucking it around them properly.

After all tape added I applied the first coat of black paint, leaving some unpainted zones around the delicate areas.
I will try to make a straight line freehand after I removed the tapes.Crying

Tomorrow I'll add a second coat, surprisingly the yellow paint does show through the black paint a bit, but it can be because I added few drops of water to the paint to make it a slightly thinner. I wanted to avoid a "step" between the black and yellow paint after the masking tape removed, which might occur if the paint is too thick.

Issue 75, hidden side.

Second coat of black paint applied.
After it dried masking tape removed... 🥁🥁🥁 ta-daaa... awesome Cool
Very little bleeding under the tape...
Leftover delicate areas painted freehand... not for someone with shaky hands LOL
Still at few places require correction with yellow but in overall very happy with the result... BigGrin Love

Tomorrow will touch up with yellow and start masking the "display side".
With less fear, seeing that I'm on the right track. Cool
