Very nice Laszio.

You may want to carefully take of the black where it is has bled, with fine glass-paper before paining, since yellow over black doesn't cover too well. You can then touch up the black or yellow where necessary.

useful tip for masking,,,,,all the yellow is done,, so when you mask it up for the black strips you first go down the edge of the masking with the yellow and let it dry,,,,this seals the edge to be painted back and any bleed into the yellow will be yellow......
cheers Willz

Thanks for all the comments and advice, all took into account on the "display side".

First I corrected the bleedings on the port side, now it's complete and looks fantastic.

Then started the starboard side, masking tape and first coat of black applied, hopefully with all the hints used there will be no bleeding on this side. BigGrin
Second coat comes tomorrow.

Thanks for all the positive comments, well appreciated.

Issue 75 continued

- Second coat of black applied yesterday.
- Today I removed the masking tape and corrected the tiny bleeding around corners and the wriggles.
- Beakhead also painted black.

I declare the result as a very successful task on both side of the ship.
Sorry if this sentence doesn't make any sense. Laugh
Very please with the result of the most scary task so far for me. Cool Flapper BigGrin ThumpUp

Thanks Alan,
It was still the most scary thing so far on the build, even if the end result looks like that it was an easy-peasy job. BigGrin

Issue 75 continued.

Started to work on the chainwales.

- Inside edges shaped to fit to hull
- holes drilled for eyebolts and supports
- they painted black
- eyebolts and blocks fitted
- started to wrap the deadeyes with brass wire. It took a while to figure out the correct technique because the wire was keep snapping even after a half twist around the deadeye. After finding the right method was able to made quite a lot of them. But now I had to stop because my fingers are numb. Crying LOL

I had a look few pictures from other build diary, also from the real ship and I noted that the deadeyes are actually black. I double checked the magazine (and the official build) and it will paint black only the wires underneath the chainwales but will leave the deadeye natural.
I'm thinking that I'll paint them black too to have a more authentic look. I'll prepare all with the brass wires, also making the straps and all together with the supports and the "8-shaped" links I'll hang them onto a piece of thread and spray them first with primer and then with matt black.

First of all, Happy Easter to all of you!

As I mentioned I'm going to paint black not just the wires but the deadeyes too.
To make me able to do it easily, first I made a frame from some leftover timber.
Then I hung them all onto a strung thread and sprayed with primer.
