As this was not too far from me and only in its second year I thought I would nip over to Haydock racecourse to take a look. Lots of parking and a nice venue but a little let down on the catering side of things, but I would recommend a visit next year if you like larger aircraft models.

There were aircraft of all shapes and sizes and some trade stands as well as a bring and buy area to look at. The pics pretty well show every model there and you can get an idea of the size of some of them as there are people nearby for scaleBigGrin

Elvington near York, generally has good attendance and you can also visit the Yorkshire Air Museum at the same time

Some amazing model aircraft in there, especially that huge BOAC VC10 and the Lockheed 'Connie', very nice. Looks like you had a fun and interesting day Al thanks for taking the time to share your pics. Cool ThumpUp

I always think it's a shame that our forum doesn't have a bigger following for R/C aircraft, not something I've done, but am always interested in and would like to get into R/C Gliders and Slope Soarers one day before I get too old! ThumpUp

This bias will change to a bigger following if and when we have another R/C aircraft available on similar lines to the previously released R/C Spitfire and R/C Fokker DR.1, though its unlikely there will ever be a Glider.

Yeah, I understand Tom. Would be nice though if there was more general discussion about R/C aircraft such as models built, being built, building techniques, engines, etc., so hopefully it may happen one day and I've seen others on here mention that they used to fly R/C.

Maybe a few years away but if I ever get round to building an R/C Glider (from plans not an RTF model) I will do a diary for it to get the ball rolling and maybe stir some interest! Cool ThumpUp
