hi glen,if you started 'bout the same time as me,last march,we are indeed upto issue 54,we get 4 issues per month, whilst the newsagents issue on a weekly basis, they will get steadily more and more ahead,as subscribers we have got a raw deal, but we got the freebees, and they did'nt.so we have to grin and bear it.or you have the choice of cancelling your subs and buy from the newsagents.you pays yer money and takes yer choice.

I contacted CS to find if it was possible to get exta issues in order to 'catch up' but they said 4 per month and thats your lot, thats how it was set up and they ain't going to change. One of my little cribs is, my early issues were at the back of the month and now they seem to be getting later?

I supose watching Tommick zooming ahead makes us all enviousMellow
Mind you, I think I look forward to Tommick's latest additions with as much eagerness as the issues!

Fingers crossed posty will be nocking soonDrool

I can understand your frustrations but it's not all; because the weekly customers are only 1 issue behind my build diary.

Karl. This issue about "subscribers" V those who buy from a newqsagent has been raised before and some of those that choose to wait for a monthly delivery and then pay think they are getting a raw deal rather than just making a personal choice...if you don't want to be behind then order from a Newsagent...I can understand those that have a difficulty getting to a newsagent through some dissability taking that choice but dont think you are getting a raw deal ...most of us if we choose to get monthly deliverys or get from a newsagent...are here for the duration and will all pay the same price... and YES I do have a dissability and mobility issues...can we finally remove this from the gripe list

I to am behind from the official build and most other builds on this forum. How ever. I have found that i am better off being behind in my build as i can learn from those that are well ahead of me.

I totally agree with you Foz, much better to be behind & avoid all the pitfalls, pick up on all the hints & tips & just get ready for what's coming next.

I don't think people really mean to gripe about deliveries, we are all very passionate about the hobby & can't wait to get our sticky mits on the next set of parts whether we are in a position to use them immediately or 10 wks behind! I know I get excited when the despatch date for the next set of parts appears on my subscription page, I also know I probably won't touch them for a month after receiving them but it doesn't stop me hoping that the will be on the mat when I get in!

It's that little boy in all of us! (no lewd comments here please!)BigGrin

i agree with foz, hey they arrive every month and we can see whats going right or wrong or where the problems may lie, like everyone else its a marathon build at our own rate not a sprint to see who can finish first. calm down and enjoy the build. p.s. its not the first time i have had to visit my local "scoonie hobbies" shop in Kirkcaldy to buy replacement parts as i have ran ahead without reading about any pitfalls in the build that others have found by getting them weekly...... enjoyBigGrin

I do totally understand about waiting for the new issues also about being slightly behind...Iam up to date with the shop issues 62 I think it is.. but build wise Iam only just finishing the hull planking about issue 50 perhaps I keep up with reading The Boss every week then go back to the planking...also checking others comments to see what I can learn from their mistakes ...The best way to learn to my mind...not that I have not made my own share along the way...Anyhow 62 weeks and still as keen as issue one ...what I found to be the sharpest learning curve was buying a plan from CMB then sourcing wood etc.and cutting my own parts and making fittings etc....Right thats me done for another few months

there one thing about monthly issue is you get four books at once therefore some parts can be completed then fitted at once instead of watting a week for the next issue then destroy the part you done the week be fore becouse of a slight missalinement or needs a bit of adjustment
