Beautiful work with the etch Jase and which compliments some very nice mouldings on the kit parts. I love the 'Hanomag' wording embossed on the radiator grille, very nice indeed.
Well done, keep it up and looking forward to the start of the V2 build.

Kev The kit is loverly not for a bigginer though due to some of the fit issues Jase “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

My next task was the dashboard. the kit part does not bear much resemblance to some research material I have found, I am sure it must be based on something. however the etch set provides what appears to be a typical arrangement.
The etch set provide a clear film with dials on, I fixed some plastic card behind it to give the white background. there are a lot of tiny etch parts to build up the various knobs and dials as well as dial rings. the two levers are made from fine brass wire.
the dash is set aside for painting

my build continues with the Anhängerdreieck the warning triangle on the roof. I often see thees incorrectly mounted and painted so lets clear that up first. the Anhängerdreieck is a warning triangle used on German vehicles from about 1930 until early 1950s. its purpose is to warn oncoming traffic that the vehicle is towing a trailer. The warning triangle should be down when not towing and up when towing. It should be yellow in the middle with a black border, even on a military vehicle if fitted. for night driving it was illuminated. I am modelling mine up as it is towing a V2 Rocket.
The kit part does the job but lacs detail in the mounting having just two pips to sit in corresponding holes in the roof. this limits the kit part to being up, when more often it would be down, so the kit part needs to be re-modeled. The etch kit supplies one with the correct hinge assembly, happy days
The inside of the roof has a lot of injection marks to fill, I used squadron for this job.
The etch is a little tricky to put together being built up of layers of etch and the parts being tiny, but when done looks fab.
the grab Handels on the door pilers were filed away to allow for the indicators to be added. the mounting bracket added separately first to help location and because the indicator housing is quiet delicate. the housing was then assembled and attached with CA on 5 second grab, seems a long time when your holding it in place
There are two small lights added to the top of the windscreen bulkhead. the parts are reworked to allow for etch brackets, these were a total nightmare to fit, you cannot hold them with tweezers the contact point is tiny and the weight of the part stops it from sitting correctly, I got close to not having them on but a lot of perseverance and it getting personal with the part and I got there.
rear view mirrors came next. the etch set suggests replacing the kit part with wire but I felt that was not needed so just replaced the mirrors.
Bonnet fastening and grab Handels come next. the moulded on parts are very basic so I hade removed these before construction. the etch is fiddly but look great wen done. its possible to model the fastenings in the open position if you want to show the bonnet open. 6 fastenings in all 1.5 hours to fold and fit
last two phots... first one shows all the assembled parts of the finished truck ready for painting
my assistant Helga demonstrates the scale of the truck in the last photo

Nice work as always Jase, I can see what you mean about those small lights, very tricky to get those brackets to bond enough given their small size.
I'm loving this part of the build, reminds me of happy days out at a couple of Vintage Commercial Vehicle Fairs I visited a few years ago. I love to see old vans and heavy trucks.

Glad your enjoying the build Kev.
the last parts for the truck are the doors. The kit doors ar two parts inner and outer and separate gazing. The inside window winder is in the wrong place. but the etch again solves this problem.
Doors really come to life with the etch on.
That completes the truck ready for painting nd is set to one side. next up is the V2
