Well I decided to have a nice quiet Sunday and spent 3 hours (she who must be obeyed, gave me the time check!!!Love ) preparing the cut outs for the total Keel (Bow; Bottem; and Stern. )

I used good old gaffer tape rather tha masking tape, it sticks better and holds firmer please have a look?

I used a pencil to mark the slots, and useing a steel rule and craft knife, cut them out.

on the Bow I cut the slot with a razor saw.

Before I glue everything in place I intend to Sand the Hull with fine sandpaper ( as Mr T suggests )

I am glad I have prepared everything today, It puts a Issue 39 into the folder.

Oh! by the way please be careful with the curved stem, I am not heavy handed, but I applied to much pressure and broke both ends, easily repaired though!!!!!Blushing Crying

Coming along nicely, although I would be interested in knowing where you got the measurements for the cut outs for the doors and gunports at the front section. I`m struggling with a 1/72 scratch at the mo and this area is a bit of a mystery

Now I want to show you all the parts fitted.

When I fitted the Keel I deviated from the instructions where you are told to" butt up " the two Keel pieces, I cut both pieces of the Keel with a rebate joint, glued and pinned. this is alot stonger joint and will not twist. please see the photoes

And to finish this session, something Mr T told me not to forget (The third hole in the curved stem).

The first photo shows drilling the pilot hole, and the second shows the pilot hole marked with a pencil before drilling the final 3 mm Hole.

Thank you for judgeing my build.LOL

Hi Comic 123,

If you open issue 27, go to `your latest parts`there is a plan which shows the positions of the gun ports to be cut through the Hull.

I hope this helps, you should have the same amount of gun ports as I have on my build, and an entrance port and starboard.LOL
