Hi All Historic F1 Build EntryThis will be my entry for the above competition although not a great deal will happen straight away. The model I will be building is the No 1 Graham Hill car that had the lower rear wing. I did a kit review when I first got this kit ,link below:- https://forum.model-spac...spx?g=posts&t=21209
Firstly the forward body needs to be painted before assembly so some undercoat will be going on later today. It will not be an OBB as I have some nice extra's made from turned aluminium/steel rod from RB Motion in the USA, the rear upright clevis set, front and rear shocks set and the wheel nuts set. The lotus team was the first to take on cigarette advertising sponsorship and the car was painted in the 'Gold Leaf' brand colours of white, red and gold. Zero paints do a colour matched set of all three paints so I will be using that set for the model. I will be striping the chrome off the chrome sprue's will will take a week in a oven cleaner bath [just goes to show the quality of Tamiya's chrome]. More soon. Andy arpurchase attached the following image(s): Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Good luck Andy, I love those old F1`s with that high wing. They bring back memories as in 1968 I was just and only just in my teens. Oh happy days. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All Quick update on progress. The chrome has now been removed from the parts and the clean up of mould lines begins. The front of the car shell has been undercoated and has received 3 coats of white this will now be left for 24 hours before the masks start to go on for the red and gold paint. The cockpit sides and bulkheads have been sprayed neutral grey after undercoating and the driver figure that came with the kit has been cleaned up and in the process of being undercoated. The engine construction has begun with main block assembled and painted gunmetal grey as I think this colour is more inline with a cast aluminium look. The cylinder heads have a coating of semi gloss black. More soon. Looking good. I always love the primer phase for some reason. Especially if your building a pre colored model kit. DeAgostini kit builds:
Millennium Falcon: 18% Complete Shelby GT-500: 28% Complete Thunderbird 2: 13.75% Complete
