Pack 9

Halfway through the build now and Robi is gradually taking shape. In this pack another servo is tested and fitted to complete a leg and another is prepared for use in pack 10. This month Robi also gets his pair of polishing shoes LOL

Pack 11

Not a great amount to do this month apart from connecting the power cable to the rear panel and then attaching the power cable and battery to the power board before plugging the charger in and charging the battery.

Pack 12

This pack is mainly made up of testing movement of the limbs that have been constructed. First its the right arm and mine functioned as it should, a good start. This was followed by the left arm which although functioned as it should for the most part, had a smaller range of travel on one of its axis than the right arm so needs looking at. I also need to sort his right leg as I had no movement from it at all. Attention then returned to the build of Robi's left foot and ankle which was assembled and also tested fine.

BigGrin Hi Al

Looking good. The lack of movement on the arm is usually the servo and it either needs resetting or a replacement.

Any lack of movement on a test is down to the servo closest to the non moving part so no movement at all means the top servo or connection is at fault. Mostly its the connection.

One tip is to leave as much slack as possible in the servo wire runs between the servos.

Thanks Andy, thought the leg not moving must be a connection issue and will try resetting the servo in the arm BigGrin

Thanks Andy you were spot on with your diagnosis BigGrin after swapping the arm servo it works fine and the leg functions fine once I pressed the loose connection home.

Pack 13

In this pack Robi's lower left leg and knee is progressed once another servo is tested and allocated its id. This was then functioned with no problems. The thigh servo was then tested and assigned an id before being fitted in position and a satisfactory function test carried out. The hip frame was then fitted and assembly then continued on the right leg with the fitting of the outer hip frame and rear hip frame, followed by another successful function test.
