Hi All! I sent some photos of 1/700 water line model of IJN light cruiser ABUKUMA(阿武隈). This model was built as a gift for friend of mine. In WW II the Imperial Japanese Navy successfully evacuated the Kiska garrison on 28 July. Abukuma is famous from the support for the operation of evacuation from Kiska. Hi Phil, Jase, Gray, Mark and Andy! Thank you very much for your comments on my post. Such cruising ship models are very popular in Japan. I hope my friend will like this model. I have started adding small enhancement that expresses "rust" on the hull. If you notice it, I'll be very happy. Best regards, Yutaro DeAGOSTINI 1/250 the YAMATO, 1/250 the AKAGI. Hi kpnuts Thank you for your comment on my post. I have found that smoke and wave effects are not difficult to make them. There are lots of useful chemical materials on the net stores. I'm not a ship modeller but I'm always impressed with dioramas like this where it really looks like it's moving. The bow wave is particularly good. Great stuff. Malc.
