Well we`ve all seen the disaster movies where a passenger is left to land the stricken plane. Including the one with the inflatable auto pilot.  BUT could it be done in real life? Depends how big the plane is....
Small single or twin engine - yes.
Done it numerous times.
Biggies - ?
Nope.
The vid is a flight sim.
The real thing is totally different as with a sim there's no jeopardy.
Even if you crash, you walk away and just try again.
With a real plane - no way.

I have a friend that used to fly the US military transport C-5M plane.He told me when they installed the autoland in that plane he was very reluctant to use it.On his first go using it it put the plane exactly down the middle of the runway and after that he used it every time.
