I heard about this just after it happened as we have a driver over Anglesey daily. From what we've heard here it sounds like a bird strike but time will tell. Our driver saw the plane go over, then saw a parachute. apparently there were two on board.
Hope all involved are ok.

Sad News the Engineer in the aircraft has died. The pilot is in hospital but survived.
RAF Statement The full statement was as follows: “It is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm the death of an engineer from the RAF Aerobatics Team (The Red Arrows) in a tragic accident today.
“The serviceman’s family have been informed and have asked for a period of grace before further details are released.

Very sad news, sincere condolences to the family of the “Blues” engineer and hope for a speedy recovery of the pilot.
I wonder if the Reds 2018 display format will be affected which has been honed through the winter months to include this pilot who only joined the Red’s this year..

That’s one very very lucky Pilot... http://www.dailymail.co....ped-crash-fireball.html

Regards delboy271155 (Derek) Not to defend the gutter press, but I think you’ll find that all news media is posting the same and in fact such as the Telegraph, has pics of the actual wreckage in which the engineer died
Much the same with the Shoreham crash.

The Red Arrows remain grounded and will "resume flights as soon as possible", but only when the RAF " are confident that it is safe to do so."
