Issue 75 completed:

Cover strips for the chainwales fitted and painted black.
Unfortunately I didn't pay attention to make the slots a bit deeper on the chainwales body hence some of the deadeye wires were protruding a tiny bit from the slots. I didn't file the excess off because I didn't want to risk the brass wire being snapped. Therefore carefully I sanded slots at the back of the cover strip to accommodate the excess wire.
First I was thinking not to use the 1x3 strip, which was said, but 1.5x3 to ensure the slots don't weaken the strip.
But then I found the 1x3 was still good enough.
Now they will be stored safely until being used.

Issue 76 continued:
- fitted the moulding strips to the gallery support
- the support painted black

Thanks Alan, Walter.

Issue 76 continued:
- masking tape removed at the side of the gallery, paint bleeding corrected
- stern gun port covers fitted and painted black
- gallery support die-cast mouldings sprayed with primer and then black
- details with yellow ochre added on one of them.

I had a look some pictures about the real ship and this part is actually painted yellow, hence I decided to paint the details with yellow ochre, not gold as said by the magazine.
Compared to the magazine I also added details (wheat shapes) into the little "triangle", also painted the whole flower, not only the middle

Issue 76:

- Inner bulwark moulding cut to size and painted black. I haven't fitted the "uncut" moulding to the bulwark first, as instructed by the magazine, because I didn't want to risk to damage the painted gun ports when the excess are trimmed off.
- Moulding pieces were fitted to both sides. I haven't fitted a tiny piece between the last gun port and the cabin wall because this distance on my ship is only about 1-2 mm, compared to the magazine pictures which approx 3-4 mm. I think this won't be noticeable.
- Front piece of moulding also cut to size and painted, will be fitted tomorrow.

Started Issue 77:

- Poop deck painted black underneath the skylight
- Skylight assembled
- I wasn't quite happy with the paint quality on the skylight pieces, also due to the top being slightly wider/longer than the assembled sides, I decided to sand the black paint off and get the joints smooth.
- I filled the inside of the skylight with a balsa block to avoid paint sticking to the inside surface (allow acetate film to stick well) then I sprayed the outside with primer. Black will follow tomorrow.
