I have managed to pick up the stunning 1982 Airfix Christie steam fire engine for a steel at £24. This kits are not desperately rare but you will easily pay £60 for on on ebay and I have seen them go for £100 on one of the vintage kit sites.

I fell really looks as this kit is open but everything is still sealed in the bag, there is no yellowing of the decals that were still tucked into the instructions.

The kit itself I think was originally an AMT release you can certainly find AMT kits about and the instructions are not the typical Airfix offering so assume Airfix repackaged it.

The model is beautiful and I have been after one for a little while. Plastic parts are folded in black grey red and clear plastic along with brass and chrome plated parts, and quite a lot of them. Its also BIG the large rear wheel is the size of my hand, the display base is supplied too

Personally I think she is a bit of a head turner and looking forward to pulling this together at some point in the future.

Nice find and great price but I prefer this 1/12 Allerton Steam Pumper as it’’s real metal makes it look more realistic though at a crazy price..

Thats a crazy price for the model expo kit.It goes on sale all the time over here for $300, but I dont think its worth it at that price either.
