The Eagle has landed...
A nice BIG model would be great. I'd sign up...

there are some really nice ones on shapeways. 1/24 scale even-IF you have deep pockets because it is crazy expensive-the level is detail is jaw dropping. When I lived on Long Island I saw the LEM up close and they even and the LEM simulator set up.

That does sound interesting but a part work would be really good due to the simplicity of build, SIZE of the model, level of possible detail (Astronaut figure on the bottom of the ladder?) and the magazines which would no doubt be all about the 'space race'...
I'm salivating at the thought...

I would defenitaly be up for that too maybe a moon buggy with it? “Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” -Mark Twain

Really good idea especially with 50 anniversary of moon landing coming up next year. Moon buggy would be icing on the cake

2015 saw a Hachette market test of a 1/96 "Build the Apollo 11" rocket, it's not been seen since and therefore can only assume it was a fail..

I wonder if the lunar module/lander would be of more interest than a 4' high 'sausage' of the entire Apollo 11?
Nice to imagine anyway.

That one was focusing on the rocket though, I believe. I've never understood rocket models. It's a white tube, yay?

It all depends on the level of detail, even the most banal subject could be made into a partwork. As Mr T said it depends on the level of interest. Its a shame the apollo 11 partwork did not go ahead. From what I vaguely remember about it, there was a heavy level of detail, right down to the Saturn V engines themselves.

Don't think I'd be in for a partwork of the rocket - I already have the Airfix 1:144 and the Revell 1:96 - but the lunar module, heck, yes. A nice big, detailed replica that could be enhanced with use of gold leaf, subscribers getting a lunar surface base, would be truly gorgeous. I'd sign up the minute I saw it! If it's a decent scale I would definitely be up for this one.
