Any suggestions for lightening acrylic wood stain on top deck.

Hi m0325 You could try using acrylic artists inks, put a coat of light yellow or grey on 1st to lighten the dark stain then put a lighter mix of light and dark browns or even a lighter stain. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Thanks for the advice. Sounds complicated. Is there a reasonably safe way to remove then stain and start over?

You could remove the old planking if you have used a PVA glue by soaking it with warm water and then lifting it off after the glue softens. Another way would be to just plank over the existing deck with fresh planking but bear in mind the cannons heights will need adjusting to fit the gun ports. Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .
