Good evening from 'The Dockyard'.

This weeks update of my 1/48 scale U-boat [U230] build sees the completion of the mahogany decking on the aft casing.BigGrin

The last of the centre [king] planks fitted. The forward end of this plank butts up against the aft escape hatch which is directly above the galley. I will fit the corresponding internal hatch in a future update.

The forward edge of the aft escape hatch is very close to the rear of the conning tower. It is only when I have made the correct shaped footprint for the conning tower can I then plank around it, so decided that the decking for this part of the build only goes to the hatch edge.

Fitting the last piece of mahogany, albight a small piece, that sees the decking completed. Granted, there are the areas around the conning tower, but these shouldn't take too long to complete.
