New here and just ordered my subscription (hopefully I can wait for each month's parts, but looks like the spoked rims will keep me busy enough!).

Here's my question: Has anyone repainted their car a different color from the Racing Green? My dad used to have a silver Jaguar XKE, and I was interested in possibly repainting mine.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum

As for the paint job if you treat the parts like a real car would be painted you will get a top finish. Strip the old paint and undercoat then rub down and undercoat again to get a smooth finish. This can be done as many times as you like to get a good finish.

In the UK we can get zero paints that are formulated for model cars and they do jaguar E type colours, link below;-

After the silver has had the same treatment as the undercoat you will need a good gloss coat again Zero do a diamond coat that when applied will look like your about to fall into it. Link below:-

Whatever paint you choose good luck with the build I have also added a couple of links to models I have built using the above paint so you can see the results that can be obtained.
