Greetings fellow Modellers I've been getting up to date with my Jaguar build and started to fit the first front wheel. After a few attempts at lining up the lugs I thought I must be doing something wrong as the brake disc/female end of lugs wasn't rotating when I turned the wheel. After trying other wheels I realised what the problem was. The inner hub part with the lugs in the picture below can be rotated within its enclosure on two of my wheels but not the other two. The net effect of this is that my fitted wheel doesn't turn the brake disc when the wheel turns as the inner hub stays in a fixed position. I'll fix this easily later with a spot of glue between the two parts of the wheel hub. It probably happened during one of my many painful attempts to get the outer spokes fitted to the wheels... soooo difficult. Putting this in perspective the wheels will hardly ever get turned when it's built - if the Jag is even allowed to rest on them but at least I'll know it's built ok. I know it's all a bit anal, just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else was interested or hadn't noticed. I hope everyone's builds are going well. Alec Happy modelling

Hello there.
I haven't noticed this on my own build but it does seem odd that the central 'core' of your wheel can rotate so easily within the hub. Mine do move, but only with some effort. My fitted wheels all work a treat and the disc also moves with the wheels, so no problems.
At this stage, I wouldn't worry about it as there 'could' be more to come later on. The wire wheels have been extremely well designed and are actually way beyond anything even Pocher created. I even wish that maybe one day, DeAg will sell 'wheel kits' for the many other 1/8 scale models out there that would benefit from them. Don't worry and just enjoy the build for now.
If there are any ideas of alterations or upgrades nearer the end, I'm sure we'll all benefit from them and they will be posted here. I doubt that your hub worry is of any real concern right now.
Why not post your build? We'd all love to see what you're up to.
Roy.

Hi Roy Thanks for your insights. I'm not worried and I agree that the wire wheels are well designed but I still think the outer spokes are a little too short, maybe only half a millimetre, but - on occasion - I've had to clamp the inner hub and outer rim together a little more than they naturally rest after fitting the inner spokes to get a few of the outer spokes to fit, all after trying as many techniques as I could think of, scraping the coating off while trying to force tbe spokes over and the limit of brute force etc. The wheel kits would be a nice way of enhancing model builds. I like the sound of that. I have a build diary in the name of my joint 'build partner' Curly Kale. We'll update it soon but our heart's not in that aspect of posting having seen some of the more advanced skills on show in other build diaries. Ours is a bit more Division 1 than Premier League. Hi, I have found that the outer spokes A & B are more of a struggle than is desirable but, if after fitting the first pair then fit the opposite pair it evens the tension on the central hub and then continue working opposites. Works for me, the ends of the A & B spokes don't look as good as the picture in the instructions but they are concealed with the inner rim anyway. As for wheel turning my front wheels and discs turn fine but the rears are never going to spin because it's a static model not a push along toy. I recon the cost of a working differential and universal joints at this scale could well have put a lot of people off. Yes I can move the wheel centre if I try but it's never going to spin. I for one am very happy. I'm not doing a diary because I'm not doing anything other than following the instructions. Partwork companies are only in the business of selling Partwork titles. If you want such wheels, the only way is via back issues while you can get them, as there will come a time when availability will cease.

You have a point. I'm going to discontinue the build diary.

You have a point. I'm going to discontinue the build diary. Now I`m a little confused. The best way to get any required help and advice should you need it, is to run a build diary. Then, how about the chance for a free final pack? Build diary of the monthRegards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Yes... You NEED to run your build diary, even if you're only 'following the instructions'.
That way, if you have difficulties or even find a particular part very easy, we all benefit.
It's only by cross-discussion that we all build a better model.
Keep those diaries coming!

Would always recommend all builders of these kits to post up a build diary whether or not they are modifying to their own requirement or simply following the build instructions.... You never know when you may have a query that needs answering and by having a build diary it helps us to help you.... Think you should keep your diary going... Regards Alan
