I have taken both parts of the instrument panel, where I had drilled out the holes earlier in my post and did a little bit of scratch building before spraying them. I used steel metalcote paint for the front panel and aluminium for the inner section and top plate. I then cut a piece of fine plastic card and glued three SMD’s to it. I then fed the wires through the lower instrument panel and glued it into place. The plastic card will help diffuse the light through to the top panel when fitted.
For the top panel I have printed some screen shots and as you can see in the last picture to see how they look. These were just a test fit and will be printed on high gloss card with a high resolution.

More very shortly.

A little more done today. I have to say, finishing this part of the cockpit definitely tested my patience. As you can see, I have placed the printed transfers into the cockpit screens. I have also placed some cables on the outer parts as per the full-size prop.
And finally, I got to test the lighting. Phew, they worked.

More soon.

I have started doing some detailing on the internal side panels. I was going to see whether I could put some lighting there as well, but there was no room as all the parts fit flush against the bulkhead.
The outer panels glue onto the side of the pod with holes that hold them in place. As I am having the pod in flight, I wanted to have these flaps in the open position, so I had to do a little modification. I first filled the holes on the back section and sanded off the notch on the outer panel.
The cockpit display had a little light bleed at the top, and after looking at the screen shot pictures from the film, I noticed it has an aluminium cowl over the top. I used a piece of large heat shrink tubing and cut out a piece to fit over the top. I then painted this with a silver undercoat paint, and once allowed to dry for a few days, I will give it a polished aluminium look.
The last few pictures show the pod, test fitted together. You will also notice I have painted the rim around the seating area black, something I noticed on the original prop.

More soon
