Thanks for the support. So with only days to go a plan is formulated. This cannon is not large, therefore to make sure I can find it again it needs to be bigger. As I`ve got to build the cannon supplied it needs to be on something to make it noticeable, ie a bit of deck section. Attached below is what I`m going to try and get close to. No main rigging and I`ll see how time goes for the bucket.(See pic below) Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Well this is where it all starts. Had a dig in the modelling room at the weekend and found just about everything I need for the addition to the cannon itself. To give you an idea of the size of these scraps the ply base is 12 inches by 8 inches, so way more than I need. (See Pic) Next job is to build the cannon and verify the scale of the deck section. That`s the theory anyway. More soon. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Thanks for the encouragement and support. Having looked at several reference pics and used some degree of "guesstimate" (is that a word ) as to the scale, this is where I`m at. Plywood base marked out with the lines indicating where beams should be underneath for tree nailing down the deck planks. Next is the basics of the cannon. Started painting the carriage using a flat red and the cannon itself painted with Tamiya gun metal. Now for the deck. I wanted a little bit of depth to this part of the build rather than a flat piece of deck. So 5x5mm deckbeams holding up the deck which is where the tree nails will be lined up when the deck planking is laid. That`s my knowledge of ship parts exhausted , so built the lower section of the ship rails and a bit of outer planking. Final pic puts the partially built cannon on the deck position. Coming up soon is the ships upper rail and supports, a bit more on the cannon and time permitting a bit of deck planking. Absolutely no idea how long that lot may take, so will update when something substantial worth adding.
