I am currently putting in the middle deck as in issue 45 & 46. Two quick questions!
1) I have bought walnut to do the deck in a while ago before I had issues 45-46 and have now realised that I have bought 2mm thick where as the wood supplied in the issues is 1.5mm thick. On the decks is 0.5mm going to cause me a problem? I dont think it will but like to know the implications
2) On the middle deck does it really matter if I dont go right up to the hull all the way around as it won't be visible at all as there is another deck to go above it?

It will raise the height of the gun carriages placed on the middle deck which means they will sit 0.5mm too high within the gun port openings, and also the turned pillars which support the skid beams will sit 0.5mm too high.
