On Rib 15 yes mate - they will need to be build up buy 1-2mm but the fix should bring everything back together once the decking and planking is completed the fix should be completely invisble. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

It does alter the angle of the deck supports but only on rib 15. Mine are now approx 1.2mm lower than those on ribs 14 and 16. I realise that the top deck support may be visible (can anyone confirm???) if that is the case then there may be another issue later on once the planking is complete. If it is visible then I may remove the top of 15 in a similar way as I did before. Doing this should not alter the integral strength of the hull but will bring all parts back in line on the completed model. As many people are so far down the build it is unlikely that a replacement part 15 is going to be much use.
However, it might be a good idea for admin/deagostini to issue a lifesize template of the correct shape of the part. That way the people who haven't fitted part 15 will be able to make fairly easy adjustments and also the template can be cut/folded for the ones already fitted into the hull.
Just think it will make life a little easier for all.
As it stands I haven't fitted mine yet as waiting for more parts, but really not looking to mod the part without any official guidance. I'm not that good a model-maker yet :-)
Just a suggestion.

hi all is it just my boat but is the top of rib 27 sticking out too and one side of rib 20 seems to be larger than its opposite side...apologies if its been mentioned b4 cheers benny

Mine seem to be OK, but time will tell when we come to the planking !!!!!!!!!!!! But a great fix, thinks that I would do!!!!!!! Hi Deepseacodmaster...I think they may have corrected the problems with rib 15 a good while back...none of the newer members to this build have mentioned any faults as far as I know? Happy building mate. agree with u there Johnny i like to think that Deag in general listen to our gripes and groans relevant to the build & try to rectitfy any short comings with the 1st subscribers Like i have always said "1st time ever build of Victory by Deag" make mistakes rectify them but takes time maybe now is the time to subscribe to Build the Victory ps "is the cheque in the post"

Ack! saw this post and paranoia immediately set in and I rushed out to the shed in the pouring rain to check my ribs. I have just completed planking the upper hull and was about to start planking the lower hull ( a part I am really not looking forward to as this is my very first wooden build). If there was a problem with rib 15, it seems that the planking has corrected it as mine are totally in line. Maybe Tomick could jump in here and confirm that the planking has the effect of lining it up? or is this an effect that has developed over a period of time with the manufacture of rib 15 and I have been lucky and got mine before the problem arose... anyone got any thoughts?

I found that bottom of rib 15 did not finish flush with the bottom of the false keel. I had to increase the slot in rib 15 by approx. 1,5mm.

Thanks Athol Mine is the same so I will open up the slot a touch. By the way Durban is my second most favorite world city after Frisco California. Always had a good time there.
