Thanks for following and the brilliant comments guys
I have been working away at this all week

and I now think it's finished
I noticed on the real gun that there was a crown and GR cast into the top of the gun and wondered how I was going to reproduce it

the only way I could come up with was some thin card inscribed with the cypher and dry brushed in black and silver then glued on with ca . Next came the tools and bucket . The tools where made of tooth picks and the bucket from some spare dowel which was drilled out and sanded down and some painted card strip wrapped around to look like the iron bands. Some rope was then hung on the cleats and just for fun I carved a Sulphur crested cockatoo to sit on the rail and leave a little package on the barrel

. The display base is a frame for displaying trophy shields with the stand removed from the back and layed flat
So I can now say this is now finished
Cheers for following and good luck to all the rest of the builders of this lovely little gun
