Hi All,

Well, here goes…..
1. I laid out the parts & made sure I had all the parts. The over exposed white bits are marking and holding jigs that I made at work.
2. I used my marking jig to mark and centre punch the drill holes.
3. The holding jig supports the carriages as they are drilled. I also drilled 4 extra holes on either side of the trunnion slot for the trunnion strap pins.
4. Next, I cut the planking slots and roughened up the grain with a wire brush in the battery drill.
5. I attached the wheels and axles. The two gun carriages in the left do not have wheels as they will not be seen. They are in the fore end that is closed.
6. I removed the burr on the gun barrels with a file and fitted the photo-etched eyes.
7. Everything got a coat of black etch primer. I bought some squirt bottles and filled one with a thinned mixture ready for airbrushing. The smallest tin I was able to buy was 1 litre tin, the squirt bottle really helps when working with small amounts.

Kind regards,
Garth

Hi All,

A short post this time, although it took most of the day to do.

I fitted the trunnion straps, a good excuse to buy some more good brandy, followed by a coat of Tamaya Matt Black.

Hi All,

That wraps up the guns!!! BigGrin BigGrin BigGrin

I dry brushed them with GW Eshin Grey followed by GW Longbeard Grey.
I then gave only the barrels, a very light drybrush of GW Sybarite Green. Hopefully this will impart a slight Verdigris feel.
I must say that I am happy with the result – much better than my Tester.LOL

I started the second layer of planking. Here in South Africa, were heading into winter and white glue takes a lot longer to dry. So, I have decided to do a little bit of planking every time I work on the detail, to give the glue enough drying time.

Kind regards,
Garth
