Fantastic work all round Roy. Certainly an ambitious conversion and you are achieving it in a masterful fashion. I'm really looking forward to future installments if your build and I'm particularly interested when you get to the wheels.

It's fun so far but my eyeballs are finding some of the wiring a bit of a challenge... Engine only in place to check clearances. Some of the wiring looms made and attached along with some relays and the voltage regulator. The bright coloured wiring will be toned down with washes later on. It will soon be time to get the engine installed so that more wiring and plumbing can get sorted. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

A little more on this one today. I've added a few parts to the engine bay and the engine is now in place - fitted. No going back... Time to start on the umpteen other bits that go on the engine and around it. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

I've cast a new RHD dashboard and blanked off the glove box as per the race car. Switches made from hair brush bristles... Gauges added and the dash is now satin black. Pedals added in the footwell. On we go. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks you guys. I'm working between the interior and engine at the moment. The interior needs to look 'old and used' so I've started weathering bits down. The carpets have had white and brown chalk dust rubbed into them to try to make them look more worn. Similarly, I've added the same to the tunnel sides and fronts of the door steps. The dash top has been leather trimmed and fixed to the dashboard which will go in the car shortly. At the front, I've added some linkages to the injection system and fitted the peculiar configuration of fluid reservoirs - this car has 4, all interconnected... Battery next and then the oil tank on the passenger side. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Battery made and fitted. I fancied a change this afternoon so I spent an hour or so designing the decals and printing them out. I also decided to add the stripes to the rear end - for no other reason than I felt the urge. Rear number plate added too. I printed some 'test' decals on paper to get the correct size before printing the actual decals. One of the paper tests was used to cut away the stripes to allow for the decal - eventually... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Many thanks for all the kind words you chaps. It really is appreciated. I've now made and fitted the oil pump system that goes on the side of the sump, and made a few connections. Also, the front picture frame is in and the upper/lower 'A' arms added. The locating pins were cut off and drilled, then the 'A' arms were fixed using screws. Much more durable and permanent than plastic... The dashboard is in as well as the steering wheel - I wonder where that came from...? One odd red seat just for testing. A bit more for those following... I've added the front rad frames and hub uprights. All screwed rather than the kit bits. The front cross-bar is now brass tube rather than the wobbly plastic kit part. Also started work on the door skins that 'fit where they touch'... Utter cr4p. The doors in the actual kt are an appalling fit. Massive gaps at the top leading edge and also the front shut edge. Lots of measuring and adding bits of sheet plastic to close the horrible 2+mm gaps. Next, sanding, filling, smoothing the parts before some test primer... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Radiator and header tank in place now. These parts are a mix of spare DeAgostini pieces and scratch building. The Revell kit parts are too horrendous to even contemplate. Oil cooler to scratch, which will be fitted in front of the radiator... roymattblack attached the following image(s):
