Hi all,Crying Crying

So, checked the local weather: Good/Very Good Cool

Left home (approx 150 miles away)nice and early.

Arrived from the North of the Loop heading to CAD West/Cad East car park and had a jet scream overhead so darn fast that whilst driving couldn`t get a clue as to what it was, then two Hawks in close formation.

Could be a GOOD day. Blink

I climbed to the CAD West view point (not easy at nearly 63)but got my position and NOTHING for hours.Crying Cursing Crying

Drove on to Corris corner where there is a very nice craft centre, cafe and comfort stop.Blushing Yep you guessed it, while paying for refreshments the scream of jet engines. Next thought not printable.

So refreshed returned to CAD West/East car park, stayed in the car park this time and just as well as NOTHING again.

Therefore only pics I have are scenic Mad

Pic 1: CAD West looking toward CAD East.

Pic 2: CAD West looking North - that`s where they should come from.

Pic 3: CAD West looking South - that`s where they dissappear to.

Pic 4: Car park to the top of CAD West and thats only a quater of the height in shot with a 300mm lens.

Sorry folks there`s nothing more, but better luck next time and there will be a next time.

A link to the Mach Loop website to show what you can see.

Sorry to hear Derek that you didn't get your pics. I usually find round here Monday and Tuesday to be busiest but weather also doesn't help. I did find a site once that listed when the very low level days were.

One of my colleagues sons goes Mach loop every couple of weeks so could find out some more info for you. But as you found out its very hit and miss if anything does fly through. But when they do they come thick and fast.

I haven't been down there yet but will do on a day off work, its only hour from here (2 mins by jet as they fly over work before they go down there).

Thanks for the pics though Derek, Maybe next time yo'll get the rewards you drove down for.

Chris

Just a case of being lucky on the right day and going often enough to catch the right day
