This is coming along nicely The issue of the pictures not showing is not uncommon and as you say a refresh usually does the trick, this will be resolved once the new forum comes along. Al

Hi Folks progressing with joining the deck parts together I have used 0.5mm styrene as I will be laying a layer of planks and don't want the deck to be too high Extra support for the deck will be underneath when I get round to the inevitable task of fitting formers between the frames Deck not glued to frames yet budgie attached the following image(s):

Hi Folks To prevent the card hull plates (I will be using styrene) from sagging between the frames formers have been added This will give more area for the styrene hull plating parts to stick to and help shape the hull. I think I have used 6mm* 6mm balsa strips totally due to laziness in my part as using 2mm card will take forever (3 * longer). Have completed the lower hull formers but will not start the upper hull until I have sanded those. Mainly as I want to see how well the balsa has stuck to the styrene with the glue I have used (speed bond)when sanding. Thanks for lookin' budgie attached the following image(s):

Hi Folks been a while since last post as have decided to restart yet AGAIN I wasn't too happy with the balsa strips glued between the styrene, too many sticks fell off while sanding Still it did pass the time while stuck indoors Now moved into the shed so I am able to make as much mess as I like now I have enlarged the templates by 141% copying them onto card These templates were glued on to 6mm thick MFD (cheaper than ply )and cut out using a jigsaw as near to the line as I dared and sanded down. Will tidy up the shape when ready for assembly I have a wee issue with Frame 0 at the pointy end and the last frame at the stern as they narrow down to less than the 6mm MDF keel Decided I will sand those parts of the keel to make thinner so the frames will fit without losing their shape Pics of progress so far with most of the big sanding complete Thanks for looking' budgie attached the following image(s):

Evenin' Folks Made a start on putting the keel and frames together Decided to cut some holes in keel and frames incase I decide to go r/c so will make it easier to cut bigger chunks out of her for access later on But mainly because it makes her look more interesting The keel slopes fwd to aft but there is virtually no camber on any of the frames port to stbd I have managed to sand the pointy end to make her thinner but broke a bit off ( heavy handed clumsiness )that will be stuck back on later when adding balsa to the area to try and get a nice shape Anyhoos pics of progress Thanks for lookin' budgie attached the following image(s):

Hi Folks finished drilling holes for the mouse's to run thru and bunged the frames on the keel. Almost ready to start planking SWMBO has finally taken down the blackout curtains from the windows and I have had the pleasure of fitting wooden venetian blinds in their place. (How do u make a venetian blind?? Poke em in the eye) As these are purchased off the shelf and not made to measure there are quite a few slats not required and they are only 3mm thick. Mmmmmmm big ship bigger planks??? budgie attached the following image(s):

Thanks for comments gents Added partial stern and bow decks to help shape those areas. Only glued down in case I have to remove them later when fitting all the decking Started "planking" a test area to see how the slats from the venetian looks and will see how it sands once the glue has dried. Could say I am working on the blind side budgie attached the following image(s):

Morning' Folks Went out to the shed the next day and pulled the "blinds" down They pulled away from the frames with little effort, should have sanded the paint of them first??? Decided to put hand in pocket and purchased some 2mm thick lime strips 20mm and 15mm wide for straight areas and 10mm for bending and filling tighter areas Put some balsa between some frames to help shape them and give a larger area to glue planks on the curves Pics of progress (slow) budgie attached the following image(s):

Evening Folks Slow progress with the good weather Had to redo frame 17...square to the keel at the top horizontally but it was squint on the vertical by a jolly good amount I did not want to soak the join to remove the frame as I am using MDF and I have found on previous attempts to my embarrassment that if left, the moisture gets absorbed and swells the MDF So I just hit it with a big hammer Coming up for the stern so I am soaking some planks for bending Keeping a magnet beside the pins stops me having to pick them off the floor every 2 minutes Thanks for looking' (no G listenin' to radio2 too much) budgie attached the following image(s):
