Hi all!

I made couple adjustments last night.

I'm going to base my cannon on the photo below. I found plenty of pictures representing cannons from Endeavour but they all slightly different and I have to stick in to somethingCool

I reduced the width of wheels to match them with the width of the carriage sides also adjusted diameter of the back wheels. A the start I tough that the axle stick out too far from the wheels but probably I'm going to leave as it is at the moment.

Dry fitted everything for the last time before painting the carriage also managed to cut base for decking. Cool

Regards,
Arek

Moving forward!

Cannon:

I'm going to add another bolt above front axle as shown on the photo of the cannon that I attached earlier.

Drilled holes for securing pins and sanded down ends of the axles for steel rings (have no idea how they are called)Blushing

That's it for the cannon at the moment. I'm waiting for chemical blackener to arrive Angry the I move further.

Decking:

Using handy shaping tool I made waterway plank and started to work on parts of the railing. First I planed to use cocktail sticks as a tree nails imitation for decking but I'm going try something different this time.Cool

Happy modeling!

Hi all!

Currently working on parts of balustrade.

I have made my four supports already but I thought that I will post way to make them anyway as they need to be identical , to make this easier I cut four pieces and jointed them using masking tape. Then I trimmed them all together to desired dimensions. Works perfect!Cool
Unfortunately that trick wouldn't work for smaller pieces situated between supports. They have to be all made individually.

All parts painted black waiting to be fit!Cool

Joined together waterway plank(red), outside plank(blue) and bottom of the balustrade(black) then glued in to the decking part with was planked before.

Also I made bucket! I'm going to create topic on modeling know-how how to make one like that, maybe someone will find this useful.

That's everything for the moment. Canon need to be put together then i will try to do some rigging and I will probably add some "toys" to make deck look busy. Tomorrow I'm leaving for holidays and I'll be back 24 Jun to start race against the time.LOL

Happy modeling!

HI All!

Quick update.

Display base is finished. For tree nails imitation I used this time sharpened medical needle. Have to say I'm really happy with the result.Cool

As for the cannon:
- added securing pins for the wheels.
- added locking eyebolt, joint bolt and chain.
- added bolt above front axle.
- added gun tackle eyebolts and breaching eyebolt.

As for the position of all above as I mentioned earlier I'm taking inspiration from photo attached earlier hoping that this replica is accurate.LOL

That's it for the moment. If I have some extra time tomorrow before competition will end cannon will be rigged if not .... canon is readyCool

note to myself: don't take part in competitions if going on long holidaysLOL LOL

Happy modeling!

Well canon is finished, BigGrin
I didn't take many pictures in the last stage as I was seriously racing against the clock!BlinkLast stage was rigging and this was my first attempt to rigging.Confused

I spend hours trying to find some help about cannon rigging and the best answer was right under my nose! I found great step by step guide in Victory cross section instruction!LOL LOL

Anyway rigging is finished and tat is closing this build.
Have to say that during the build I decided to scratch build some ship. I have already some ideas so "watch this space"!Drool Drool
