Issue 94 includes the microcontroller unit (MCU) that acts as R2-D2’s ‘brain’.

It is equipped with sockets into which all his sensors, motors, displays, other electronics, and power supply will be plugged.

The MCU’s circuit board is pre-installed in a housing that will protect it from damage or electrical interference.

Thanks for the info! Do you have any better photos of the unit?

Any news on the battery we have to purchase?

I'm liking all these snippets of information (the battery and ECU) and the build diary 😍

Hi Tomick,

Do you know if the MCU housing is completely shielded? or is it a plastic casing?

Thanks in advance 👍

The manufacturer info states that the MCU is within a factory fitted case that protects it from damage or electrical interference, therefore is shielded.
