Thanks for the supportive comments one and all. I`ve come to a halt with the wheels as I`ve run out of Tamiya XF1 matt black for the tyres and with no shops open till Monday I don`t think even a Quick Fit Fitter can help with that one. Roll on Monday Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Now they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I love a Pud I have attached below a pic of two tyres. One painted with Tamiya XF1 and the other with Vallejo Black/Grey. I`m going for the Vallejo route, I`ll let you decide on your preference. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Update time folks. Finally got to the end of painting the wheels and with a fall in temperatures have also managed to start on the white topcoat. As the kit does not come with the modern day livery decals I was looking at a really tricky final paint job, but I`ve managed to track down the decals from a company in the Ukraine and I`m awaiting delivery as I write this. Included pics are the wheels, the bit of top coating done and a pic of the decals from the web. Until next time Regards delboy271155 (Derek) delboy271155 attached the following image(s): COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Nice job Derek. Really good looking model and you are doing it proud. Weather beginning to agree with me now. First time in 2 months that i got into bed last night rather than laying on top of the bed :-) Internets great for finding all your bits and pieces. Look forward to seeing how your markings turn out. Happy Modelling

Thanks for the link. It is one awesome plane. I`ve only seen it once at East Midlands, we usually only see the smaller four engined An-124. I`m still awaiting the arrival of the Revell04958 1:144 kit of the An225 onto the market. Rumour has it its not far off. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"

Hi All, An update is long over due , but here we are. First the base surface is finished and the basics of the plane exterior is done, the nose also has its decals fixed in place. Then three pics of the exterior decals and then a pic of the display cover on the base. To do: Wire the base ready for the internal lighting of the cargo hold. Fit the forward and rear ramps, plus nose section. Fix plane to base and cover. Will update with final pics soon. Derek Very nice paint finish and not an easy one to pull off. Smart looking display case - is that something you have built? Tony Happy Modelling

Tony Thanks for the comments Tony. As for the display case the basics are shown here: https://forum.model-spac...spx?g=posts&t=28722
Costs were approx £80 taking into account that I recycled stuff for the base. 3mm perspex cost £60 of that total, but its big at 66cms wide x 61cms depth x 36cms height and included a large tube of sealant, a sealant gun and P+P. Different grades and finish of perspex material are available here: http://www.plasticsheets...ar-polycarbonate-sheet/
I enjoyed the case build, all it needs now is a polish up job and its complete. Hope to have another update soon. Regards delboy271155 (Derek) COME BACK GUY FAWKES "YOUR COUNTRY NEEDS YOU"
