You might want to try lifting and removing the offendong strips, failing that, chop out the bad part and replace

Id agree with the holy one there mate and replace the wales.
But if the wriggles should be cut of of the wales then both you and i have problem as i only had to cut a few out and not all of them.
Hope you get it sorted.

Hi jonny! When you have removed the lower plank of the wales that need replacing, then fitted the new planks you will need to set the wriggles in the correct place and only trim the wales were needed. To help you in this task here is the part of my diary that explains how I did it. As I fitted the wales I needed to support the wriggles as I drew around there position on the wales so I made a block from scrap wood the same size as the port. Then I added on top a piece of the same wood as the port linings and rested the wriggle onto this I check all the port making only the ports that needed to have wood removed.

Tomick wrote:You might want to try lifting and removing the offendong strips, failing that, chop out the bad part and replace Thanks Mr.T. Does that go for the upper wales as well as the middle wales? As they seem a bit high as well...cheers one and all as I was beginning to think that something really drastic had gone wrong!! Moving the wales I can cope with, but a total rebuild wooohhhaaaaa!!!
Current Builds: Deagostini HMS Victory: Deagostini HMS Sovereign of the seas. Completed Builds: Del Prado: HMAS Bounty: Hachette: RMS Titanic: Del Prado: Cutty Sark...

Hi SoB, thanks for your input mate... I am halfway through stripping the offending wales off of my build...I thought I'd let you know that I like that block in the gun port idea for holding the metal eyebrows in place, don't mind if I use it do you???

Hi jonny! If the block idea will help you then please use it!. A number of us have had problems in the build some had their problems pointed out to them, other felt they could do better second time round. I wasn't happy with the grate size after fitting the quarter deck and went to fit the ladders so I had a right job removing the grates to reduce the width, then refitted them. It all part of the fun! Just wish I didn’t keep pulling my hair out, now where’s my stress pills gone!!!.
