Dear members
I have a question regarding the polishing of die-cast body. I am just wondering if the body of Deagostini's car kits generally have enough layer of paint and clear coating for sanding/polishing (2400 and stepping up to 12000 ) straight away? Or I need to clear coat the die-cast body first before the polishing procedures? Just don't want to see the bare metal by accident!
Please advice and thank you in advance.

The only polish I would use/recommend is Tamiya’s modelling wax, which is specifically designed for model use.
