I think you’re right Al, but there’s always a price to be paid for quality. Personally, I think it will be worth whatever the cost ThumpUp

Lots of UK model retailers already have it listed such as Hannants and some have listed it as a pre-order such as TJD Models: http://www.tjdmodels.com/hk-models-m-146.html

Its a kit that’s going to be discounted, so shop around and buy wisely. Freetime Hobbies in the USA have it listed for $329.98

Even via the Euro route it isn't cheap...

http://www.modellbau-koenig.de/Aircraft_Models_124-132/Allied_WW2/Royal_Airforce/Lancaster_MkI_and_Mk_III-_limited_Edition_i177_65825_0.htm

So expect a GBP price of around £320 Blink

Not sure what the 1st edition extra clear parts are, but it will be interesting to see the price when it levels out after the initial buzz.

If its as good as they say and at that scale, then £300 - £320 is about the average.

Some of the large ship kits cost that much when they`ve been on the market for two years or more.

Alternative is to wait until the market settles and see what you can get it for then.Blink Blink

I quite agree and you can pay 2 or 3 times that for a good wooden ship kit, if Lancs are your thing then you will find a way

BigGrin The HK Models B17 is now selling at around the £240 mark but its a rare bird now as its out of stock in a lot of places but still out there if you search for it and plenty of aftermarket for it too.

As for the Lank I think it will sell faster than the B17 and soon become that kit I wished I had bought quite quickly. If I bought it I would wait to see what aftermarket stuff came out as in sure it will be like the B17's offerings.Cool
Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

They are providing a completely clear side so you can make it up fully painted on one side and turn it around to have a clear side to see all the detail.

Not sure if its allowable to post links here but on "Andys Hobby Headquarters on facebook he had some test shots he obtained from an ipms show in the USA which showed this.

Happy Modelling

That's big money at a £399 RRP Blink

https://www.emodels.co.uk/hong-kong-models-1-32-avro-lancaster-b-i-iii-01e10.html

Cheapest so far seems to be via "Premium Hobbies" @£349 here...though it’s online only and is a new company started in Feb 18, might be worth being wary as there seems to be no contact number...

https://www.premiumhobbies.co.uk/aircraft/hk-models-lancaster-hkm01e06

A little odd that the HK site has no mention of the Oct/Nov release though Bachmann (who are the UK importer) are noting it as in stock Oct/Nov 18.

Anyone considering this kit should be aware that the extra fuselage and nose section (clear plastic sections) will only be available with the first run of this kit and will NOT be included in additional runs, so grab it while you can!

What’s in the box?

• Two fuselage and nose sections – clear plastic and textured grey
• Markings for 3 aircraft comprising R5868 OL – Q Queenie, R5868 PO-S Sugar and W4783 AR-G George
• 23 Sprues – comprising 633 parts!
• Comprehensive assembly instructions

These are due to arrive in the UK in October/November 2018. Demand will be very high for this one off kit Crying
