USS Constitution Pack 12-Stages 111-120
Stage 111 contents:- Fore topmast staysail and main topmast staysail.
Take the spritsail yard and attach it to the bowsprit using the parrel to secure it in place. Next take the 4 foremast yards and using the foremast plan fit the yards out with stirrups, blocks and double blocks as indicated then fix all four yards to the fore mast.
Next take the mainmast plan and make the mainmast, stain and paint it and add the blocks and ships bell as indicated. Then make the four yards, fit them out and add them to the mainmast. Test fit the mainmast into its hole on the deck and adjust the fit if needed, you can glue the mast in position now or later on in the build.
Note
The spars are only loosely fitted to the masts for now as the sails will be added to each one before being permanently fixed in place.
Take some 0.5 brass wire and prepare eight eyelets with a tail around 50mm in length and paint them black. When dry fit them to the chainwales, they are fitted at into the first hole of each chainwale and the last hole of the mainmast chainwale. Repeat for the other side of the ship with the remaining four eyelets.

Stage 112
Stage 112 contents:- Mizzen topgallant/topmast staysails and flags.
Open the mizzenmast plan and make up the mizzenmast in the same way you made up the other masts and four yards although this mast has the extra spencer mast and spanker booms to be assembled. Paint and stain the mast, booms and yards to match the other two masts.
Assemble the yards and booms to the mast and then check its fit in the last remaining mast hole in the deck. Adjust the fit of the mast if needed then place the mizzen mast in position on the hull. You can choose to fix the mast now or at a later date in the assembly.
Next take the first rigging plan that shows the rigging for the bowsprit and add the rigging as shown to the lower half of the bowsprit using deadeyes where indicated.
Note
The two 3mm dowels should not be cut to the 167mm length but to 67mm in length then add the two eyepins as per the instructions and glue and rig them in position under the beakhead.

Stage 113
Stage 113 contents:- Spanker and flying outer jib sails.
If you have already not done so fit the bracing lines to the bowsprit then follow section 'D' on the rigging plan to fit the stays and lanyards between the foremast and bowsprit. Make sure you fit all the blocks as indicated on the plan.
Next make up another grating and then cut a grating 4 sections wide by 6 long add walnut and ramin strip to create a grating 44mm long with an open end. Glue the grating just made on the deck around the bowsprit. Make up two deadeye lanyards with an eyebolt at each end then drill two holes to either side of the grating just fitted at the bulwarks, glue the eyebolts into the holes.
Again following plan 'D' rig the stays between the foremast and main mast then add the stays between the main mast and mizzen mast again fitting all the blocks as indicated.
Using plan 'E' fit the backstays noting which use blocks, deadeyes and eyebolts to fix them to the chainwales.
Next using plan 'B' of the rigging plan fix all the lower shrouds to the masts fixing them in place with lanyards to the chainwales.

Stage 114
Stage 114 contents:- Jib and Main royal staysail.
Make up the futtock shrouds for each mast with a small deadeye at one end by following section 'B' on the rigging plan. Pass the end of the shroud just made through the pre-drilled hole in the tops then tie the ends to the shrouds below it. Do this four more times. You should now have five upper shrouds attached to the lower shrouds. Take the centre shroud and tie the the two shrouds to either side to it and cut off the excess leaving only the centre long thread. Fix an eyepin to the gunwale between the first two cannons and tie off the shroud to the eyepin.
Do this for the other side of the foremast and complete the mainmast in the same way. The mizzenmast futtock shrouds are simple tied off around the mizzen mast itself.
Next rig the topmast and topgallant shrouds to each mast using Section 'C' of the rigging plan. The topgallant shrouds are tied off at about 20 mm below the topmast crosstrees.
Using 0.15 brown thread start to place the ratlines on the lower and topmast shrouds starting at the foremast and working your way towards the stern. Once one side is complete repeat for the other side of the ship.
Take the last two anchors and add the rope to both like you did with the first two anchors but also add a double block to each anchor ring. Take the first anchor and pass the anchor fluke through the netting in front of the 1st cannon then using 0.15 thread pass it through the cathead and anchor block securing the end to the inner gunwale in front of the cleats. Trim the anchor rope to length and fix it to the outer hawse hole. Do the same for the second anchor on the other side.
Make up the foremast fife rail the same way as you made up the other rails then glue it in position on the deck.
Stage complete.

Stage 115
Stage 115 contents:- Main Topgallant stay sail and Gaff topsail.
I would recommend you fit the sails as you add the spars to the Bowsprit and Masts as with the rigging now in place it will be difficult to add them with the spars in place. Each sail will need fixing loops sewn to each corner using the rigging thread supplied. I also fully rigged the bowsprit yard at this point.
On the bowsprit create the stays by following section 'F' on the rigging plan and attaching the ends to the catheads. Next take the left over netting and cut it to size to fit the stays on the bowsprit.
Rig the bowsprit halyard to the bowsprit yard and fix its other end to the Foremast fife rail
Take the foremast yards add the sails to each one then fix them to the foremast. Now using section 'F' of the rigging plan rig the jeers to each yard securing them at the points shown in section 'R' of the rigging plan.
With 1mm brass wire make up the goosenecks and cranes for the swinging booms. Drill holes where indicated and fix the goosenecks and cranes in position then paint them black. Next pass the end of the boom through the crane and hook the eyepin into the gooseneck. Secure the boom to the chainwale with some 0.80 thread. Repeat the above on the other side of the hull.

Stage 116
Stage 116 contents:- Fore course and Fore royal sails.
Rig the spritsail yard lifts using 0.05 thread using sections 'G' and 'R' of the rigging plan. Then rig the lifts on all four yards of the foremast again using rigginG plans 'G','Q' and 'R' for line runs and fixing locations.
Prepare the flying jib and fore topmast staysail with loops at the lower corners and a single block attached to the top of each sail. Next using the 3mm rings provided as hoops, fix the Flying jib to the fore topgallant stay and rig the sail using section 'H' of the rigging plan and tying the ends off using sections 'Q' and 'R'.
Retrieve the white whaleboat and add two single blocks to the eyepins at each end. Next drill two holes in the gunwales on either side of the davits and add an eyepin to each hole. Take some 0.5 natural thread and tie it to the hole in the davit pass it down through the block and back up the davit. Set the height and tie it off at the davit. Do the same for the block at the other end of the whaleboat.
Take some brown 0.8 thread and tie an end off to the eyepin in the bulwark, then pass it through the hole in the davit . Go around the whaleboat and then through and around the deadeye then back up over the boat and through the hole in the davit. Pass the end through the other deadeye and the tie it off on the boom above the whaleboat. Do the above with the green whaleboat on the other side of the ship.
Next take the Gig and add two blocks as before then using 0.5 thread thread it through the davits and tie it off at the cleats on either side. Now fix the Gig in place using the 0.8 brown thread.
Stage complete.

Add two blocks to each clew on the forecourse sail and two more blocks to the rear face of the davits. Next rig the fore course tacks noting you will need to drill a 1mm hole through the bulwark to fit the rear sheets, follow sections 'K' and 'R' of the rigging plan to fit the tacks and sheets.
Next take the four main mast sails and fit them to there yards. Proceed to rig them in the same way you fitted the foremast rigging using sections 'J', 'L' , 'N' and follow sections 'Q' and 'R' for there securing points.
