Hi all,

Just put together my latest issues...

Issue 84 - the arms.

One of mine (bottom arm) seems to stick when going back in. I little press and it pops back in.

Looks like the plastic maybe catching somewhere. Anybody else had this?

It's not faulty and dosn't really warrant a replacement issue - perhaps I have something done up to tight.

The motor works fine and the arms go in and out correct - just sticks slightly...

Any ideas?

Cheers

Lee

I would check all the linkages for that side one may be a little tight or its catching somewhere and also look at the point where is stops on the front as there may be something its catching on.

Hi,

My bottom arm was catching on the body as it closed, I found that the arm was loose within the pivot mount causing it to sag.

So I stuck I piece of plasticard to the underside of the pivot mount and filed the recess slightly bigger than the original.

Works a treat now, will post some pics later to show this.

Will do - cheers. The linkage looks fine...will have to have a closer look - it was quite a late build last night.

Sounds the same as mine. Would love to see your pics of the issue and corrective action. Thank-you! :-)

Hope you can see what I have done, it was to make that recess where the pin goes slightly smaller to make it a tighter fit.

Just finished issue 84 and have the arms installed. They fit perfectly and move beautifully. But the top arm doesn't tuck back into the body - it has about 1/2 inch of play when they are fully retracted, and more often than not, it is partially open.

I see that a bumper is molded into the body to stop the linkage movement when it is closing. It looks like I could trim that back and get another couple millimeters of movement to close the arm completely.

Before I do that, though, I was wondering if anyone else has run into this, and if they had a more eligant solution that pulling out a grinder.

Try readjusting the linkage position 1st . I found that if you have them as far back as possible to the closed position when fitting the assembly helps with the mechanism closing properly.

Thanks for the quick response. Did as you suggested, retightening screws with arms pushed towards the closed position and it worked perfectly!
