Hi jonny!  You might have made a boo-boo, but at least the standard of work in your boo-boo was great! just sorry I had to point it out, you put a lot of work into that I could tell. Glad to see all is now well with your ship and you can finally move on, one day you will look back in your diary and have a good laugh about it. It’s great to have the forum shipmates, the build diaries is a great idea! you can show the work you have done, be helped to spot problems, sharing information on the build and getting ideas for your own ship. Nice work Jonny!

To date, I've been using the "apply wet plank to model and allow to dry" method. Works well, but now that I've started work on the waterline planking, it takes too long.

Thats what I do, works for me MWG BUILD DIARIES: HMS VICTORY, SOVEREIGN OF THE SEAS, SAN FRANCISCO II, HMS HOOD, HMS ENDEAVOUR LONGBOAT, HMS VICTORY X-SECTION, 007 DB5, NISSAN GTR, CUTTY SARK, RB7, AKAGI, BARK HMS ENDEAVOUR, HUMMER H1, MITSUBISHI ZERO.

Great idea with the tea cup, it's amazing what we all use for various parts of the build. I can't remember which part or which household item I used once, but I do remember the look on my wifes face Come on you Jimmies

Hi Jonny! I bet you couldn't believe it when you found that gap. You have some 6mm x 1.5mm planks that are used to fill in the sides of the deck you won't need all of them so you could remove a small plank next to the gap and replace with a section from a 6mm x 1.5mm plank to plug the gap might look better for you mate. It does look good now your getting the deck on mate!.

Hi Johnny. Shes coming along very nicely now, they really start to take shape once that deck goes in. And i know what you mean about those guns, even following Darrens advice im struglin to make up the gun tackle but am persavering but unfortunately have to get back to the camp in the morning so no more building for a week for me.  Any way keep up the great work. Foz

Hi Jonny, sorry to hear about your 1mm gap, Its to late now but I always start with a King plank running down the centre of the deck and build out from that (I did this with the Endeavour and San Fran)one Starboard - one Port - and so on then you can fit exactly at the Bulwarks.
