Hi
I am struggling with the first start up of my rb7.
I managed to get it started but it went straight to full throttle to which I had a moment of panic getting it to turn off , I have tried to set the carb up but no joy.
Is there a setup guide or does anyone have any advice how to set the carb up please.
It's my first nitro model so be kind :)
Many thanks
Tom

It sounds like your servo is set with full throttle open.
Here is the Kyosho start and set info http://forum.model-space...aspx?g=posts&t=6294

Hi again
Having gone through the start up guide I'm still having issues , i have zero'd in the servos , set the carb up and I still can't get it to idle without the wheels spinning.
Any other ideas?
Cheers

Hi Tom On your transmitter there will be servo adjustment knob for the throttle servo use this to close the throttle one click at a time until the engine idles without the wheels moving. If you go too far back on the adjustment the motor will stop so just click back once and you should be ok with that setting. Once you have this position set recenter the servo so on start up you have the idle set. Andy Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

Hi Andy , thanks for the reply , I have tried that but no luck , I shall try again,I'm reluctant to give in and use a shop to set it up , all learning I suppose just annoying as I want to use it :)

Have you tried adjusting the idle screw, very slightly anti-clockwise while the engine is running?

Yes I have , the one with the spring? It seems to get to a point and then doesn't make a difference no matter how much I turn it out.
I must be missing something, just annoying i can't get it right

I must be missing something, just annoying i can't get it right With the throttle closed, and looking down the barrel of the carb, you should see a slight air gap which should reduce or get larger when you turn the screw right or left, Also check that you have the rubber O-ring seated on the base spigot of the carb where it fits into the engine and that the carb is fully seated, any inlet of air will cause a high idle.
