@Davetwin @Pemberg @Spal Thanks for the encouragement guys, you're right, everything will turn out alright with a few more sessions of filling, sanding and priming. I'm afraid I do have a rather critical eye when it comes to my own work, and have to admit that I was a little 'heavy-handed' with the initial sanding down and maybe took too much off where it wasn't necessary, but I suppose one of the glories of working with wood is that these small mistakes can always be rectified. Happy building David

Ian Thanks Ian I think it will turn out OK, I guess I was just a little naive in thinking it would be a thing of beauty after only one attempt. It looks like I'll be going through this process several times before I get the result I'm after. Happy building David

Update on the HERMIONE build
The update this week will be later than normal my friends. My left forearm and wrist are in a support after having a bad fall on Tuesday afternoon and damaging my wrist. So sadly I am unable to do any work on the build at the moment and this situation will probably last for the best part of this week as well. Very frustrating for me and eager to be able to get to work on her again. Keep looking in though, they'll probably be some sort of update at the end of the week. Happy building David
