Page 11 of the magazine says to use 2 x 11mm screws (supplied with issue 76) for the hinges for the tool compartment door. The official build diary also says to use these. But there are two problems with this: (1) I’ve only got one of these left so the others must have been used elsewhere, and (2) these screws are much too long to tighten all the way in.

I have three part threaded 8mm silver screws and seven 9mm self tapping black screws, either of which look a much better fit to me. A mistake surely?

The black 2 x 9mm self tapping screws are used in the Official build and are clearly shown in the associated picture. The same black screws are used in the printed instructions again clear to see in the pictures. The 11mm is a typo and have now been corrected.
Current builds:-C57,Zero, Lamborghini Countach, Caldercraft HMS Agamemnon,Robi,R2-D2, MFH Cobra .

I would argue with “clearly shown” as I don’t think you can tell the dimensions of a screw from a photo alone, and that’s if you’re lucky enough for the images to actually load on the official build page (I’m lucky if even half of them load, even after refreshing 10 times) and it’s hardly a high resolution close up. But thanks for the clarification anyway.

The official build has the most up to date information on the build and should be checked first for any updates.

I made an archive of the official build pages and the images that you open on your own computer instead of the unreliable 'net one: deAgostini keep altering the text though, as in this case, after the pages are published so it's impossible for me to tell if I'm up-to-date or not, which makes the whole thing a bit tricky.

I keep the latest version of the archive here for anyone to download:

Seems a bit odd to me that we’re supposed to use full threaded screws for this. The other tool compartment doors used half threaded ones which makes more sense for a hinge.
