Just a small update today. The final wheel has been assembled now and is fitted to the rear axle. It all went together very easily and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will all go together with the main body... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

I've done a little more on this one today - the Citroen van is driving me nuts... I decided to remove all the screw fixings on the tailgate panel and just have it smooth and leather covered. The two large fixing posts on the lower inside of the metal door panel had to be ground down flat using a bench grinder. The raised fixing points on the inner panel were cut off and the part covered in leather. Without screws, it meant everything had to be glued together with CA. Not a problem but obviously care was needed. The rear screen was fixed to the frame with D/S tape first just to keep it all together. It was then glued into the door panel. After that, the inner panel was glued in place. Depending on if anything yet to come covers the hinge fixings, they will all be painted to match the leather. Quite happy with the result... roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Roy, I got the rear door parts yesterday and already decided to get rid of the screws - sometimes DeAg's determination not to use glue makes for some rather clumsy assemblies! I am not using leather so will have to fill the holes.
The door parts arrived in a gigantic box containing the bodyshell - starting to get exciting now. Next it says the engine subframe will be attached to the bodyshell - at last!

Due to excessive handling I think, the chrome strips on my bonnet top edges were losing shine and even the paint in several places. A couple of strips of Tamiya tape, a Molotow chrome marker pen... Voila. All sorted. roymattblack attached the following image(s):

Moving along nicely now. The headlining as supplied doesn't quite go with my revised colour scheme so I decided to change it to a much lighter cream. All very straightforward - repaint the entire part first, and then fit a self adhesive panel to the centre. Much brighter and a bit more prototypical. Next task - cover the door sill panels with leather, add a chrome edge strip and then fit it all in place. I also added some metal foil to the lock striker plates. Again, quite straightforward. The leather here made no difference to being able to fit or shut the doors. I'm aware that the added leather on the sills and seats might make fitting everything together at the end a bit tight, but we'll see how it goes. Roy. roymattblack attached the following image(s):
