I´m glad you found those guns - they look awesome - as is your whole build!
I also can only recommend shapeways - i used some of their parts for my victory (stairs, belfry, roundhouse decorations)!Greetings,

Good morning from 'The Dockyard'. This weeks update continues with scratch building modifications to the conning tower of my 1/48 scale model of U-boat U230. To attain the correct height of the upper deck I fitted square profile plastic strip. Last week saw 6.0mm square strip added and this week I fitted 4.0mm square strip to bring the total height to 10.0mm. The attached photo shows the additional 4.0mm square section strip fitted. The next step was to measure the upper deck profile of my 1/72 scale donor model and transpose those measurements, multiplying by a factor of 1.5 and draw out on 0.5mm thick plastic sheet. The attached photo shows the upper deck profile marked out and ready for cutting. Once I was happy that the upper deck fitted well I then put it to one side and concentrated on the deck of the conning tower itself. The attached photo shows the part-works supplied part that makes up the deck of the main conning tower. The round section has to be removed so that the remainder will fit into the tower.
