Welcome to the forum Greg there are a lot of experienced ship builders on here to offer help and advice if you need it. You could always try this kit first to expand your woodworking skills before progressing onto the Constitution https://www.model-space.com/us/new-swift-complete-kit-us.html Al

Hey Greg, good luck with your ship builds. The major benefit of the model space kits is the instructions in my opinion.Model shipways make nice kits and their instructions are pretty good, but nothing I have ever built matches the model space instructions. The Swift was my first wooden ship. Its a great beginner kit.
