A bit off topic for this particular production, but i tried to long on to the website to check the status of my next r2 delivery and it just comes up saying the website is blocked due to a potential hacker. Anyone know whats going on?

Hi semaj,

I`ve just tried logging into my account and it reads that there is a security issue with the way the site I`m trying to access is set up. Therefore access has been denied to protect me.

This issue is now already under investigation.

Please Note This is not a Modelspace site issue, its a Deagostini issue that has been passed on and is being dealt with.

thanks for the reply.

it says on mine that sensitive information could be stolen by attackers which made me panic a little.

glad to hear that it is being dealt with. is there any way that i can still access the website to check my subscription?

Until the situation is resolved I would think not. When resolved your browser will give you access.

As soon as we know its cleared a message will be posted to clarify.

It’s an OCSS system problem rather than attempted hack and is being rectified.

Thanks for the update. I havent got a clue what that means though. As i mentioned in a previous post, that was the warning that came up on my computer. Not trying to scare people, it said that i have been protected against hackers. Ive never seen this before and thought the website had been hacked or something.

I did manage to get on to view by clicking on advanced (in the warning message) and then visit site (unprotected). I inderstand that i do this at my own risk

All that's happened is someone in their web site team forgot to renew the ssl certificate for the site prior to its two year lifespan expiring on the 2nd. the encryption it provides is still valid just its expiry date is passed so browsers have a whinge. you can get round those warnings by adding an exception if you want to.

unfortunately a lot of third party malware checkers react to that in a way designed to put the fear of the sith in the average man on the street rather than educate.

I can say this because my day job involves managing this exact same thing for a fairly big web hosting company with thousands of these ssl certs under my control.

I'm sure whoever's job it is to sort it at deag is on it right now.

if not I'm willing to help out for a small fee (the rest of my r2 sub, plus a full free x-wing would do it) ;)

LOL,
yeah a lot of companies will buy a cert and then forget to make note to renew it in time, and then the email from the cert company gets ignored and wham!
i have had to create meeting events in outlook at places i have worked to remind folks about a month before the date to keep from this happening.
